Break of structure (BOS)

Price closing beyond a prior swing point in the same direction as the existing trend — continuation, confirmed.

A break of structure requires a close beyond the level, not a wick through it. A spike that closes back inside is rejection, which is close to the opposite signal.

It confirms the trend is intact. It does not locate an entry, and it means very little inside a range where the same levels are crossed repeatedly.

Also called: BOS.
